Mission Statement
of
Remnant Church of God

We proclaim the Testimony of Jesus Christ, the message God sent Him to give to us. It is a message that many would hear but so few would accept. The Testimony of Jesus is also the message that  inspires all prophecy.

Our gathering of people in the Remnant Church of God is to help those people who not only believe in Jesus the Savior of humanity, but also who believe that Jesus is the one whom all persons should emulate.  Sharing in His feelings, thoughts, ideas, plans, works, doing what He would do, saying what He would say, acting the way He would act, feeling what He would feel.

We gather together to aid, help, heal, nourish, nurture, feed, encourage, lift up...those that seek to marry themselves to Jesus to become of the same Spirit with Him and the Father abounding in grace with mercy.

     In  Memory

Rolland D. Wile, Pastor of the Remnant Church of God, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

Born October 23, 1941, in Rocky Grove, Pa., he was the son of Glenn R. and Kathryn I. (Lindsey) Wile. He was a lifelong resident of Rocky Grove and graduated from Rocky Grove High School with the Class of 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra L. Hartman, on February 23, 1960 and she survives.

Mr. Wile was well known, in the area, as the manager of Skat/Kwik Fill Service Station, in Reno, where he formed many lifelong friendships before retiring in 2004 after 45 years of service.

In his earlier years, he was an avid basketball player, playing for Rocky Grove High School and various leagues. He continued his love of sports through his grandchildren and their participation in sports-related activities. He also loved to garden and travel. When his health permitted, he loved to spend time in Florida.

Mr. Wile had a very strong faith. He was ordained an Elder and later became the Pastor of the Remnant Church of God, in 1998. During his time as Pastor, he wrote booklets and several articles for the church web site. He was especially fond of the booklet The Testimony of Jesus, which he wrote in 2002.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his mother, Kathryn; five daughters, Jennifer L. Lambert and her husband, Craig, Terri J. Lowry and her husband, Timothy, Lee Ellen Haniwalt and her husband, Terry, Susanna D. Wile and her fiancé, Don Uber, and Olivia Williams and her husband, David, all of Rocky Grove.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Amanda E. Higgins, and her husband Adam, of Charlotte, N.C., Jared M. Lambert and his wife Megan, Jessica, Justin and Cassidy Lowry, Tyler Wile, Patrick and Nicholas Glowacki and Gage Haniwalt, Abigayle and Bishop Williams, all of Rocky Grove, and two great-grandchildren, Brynn Lambert and Benjamin Higgins.

Preceding him in death were, his father, Glenn R Wile and his beloved aunt, Frances (Lindsey) Hefferman.

Private funeral services were conducted by the assistant Pastor of the Remnant Church of God (and son-in-law of Mr. Wile) Craig A. Lambert.

Mr. Wile is deeply missed by his family, friends and his congregation.
